Raining Pennies From Heaven...Every Penny counts!

About two months ago while back to school shopping for a few last minute things, we noticed we were finding pennies and a few other coins everywhere we went. They were on the floor in stores, the ground in parking lots and even in the grass along sidewalks and on  the sidewalks too. I stopped told them the story that was told to me by step-grand,mother. When my grandfather and she would take a walk he would make fun of her stopping every 2 seconds to pick up the pennies she would spot. She would state that "every penny counts and one day you will be happy to have that penny!" He past away 11 years ago but she still takes her walk  and says now she finds even more pennies now and claims that my grandfather is dropping them down from Heaven for her to find them.

The kids just adored this true story and we decided that she was 100% RIGHT! Every penny does count!

We rushed home and decorated a can. We titled it " Pennies From Heaven And Every One Counts!"

Since then we have found a coin every time we have gone out (No Joke). There has also been a few trips we have found numerous coins too. We always pick them up and slide them in our pocket to be placed in our special can. It's like a game now to see who can find the most when we go out.   We all agreed that we will continue to do this and respect the money that so many people just drop and discard just because it was a penny or a dime. When the can is full we plan on counting it all. Our decision on what to do with it at this point is unknown but we would like to use it for a good cause.

Why do people just throw money away is a good question I just could not truly answer when my children asked me. But I am so thankful to have this lesson with them and I am even more thankful that they are money wise little people and learning that a " penny saved is a penny earned" and no matter how small of amount is saved and respected it all adds up to bigger and better things.

How are you teaching your children to respect money? Are they counting their pennies and their blessing and thankful for all the little things in their lives too that God allows them to have? If not then why not start now! Go make a Pennies From Heaven Can with them right now and start. Teach them that with every penny saved is a penny earned and it is a blessing to even have that penny. When your can is full totalled up with them and show them that they can do great and charitable things with it.

Don't forget to have your quiet time with the Lord and write in your journals.

Family Trips On A Budget Tip 1 And 2

We plan on taking many short inexpensive 1 to 2 day trips today as our family vacation this year with that in mind souvenirs could get expensive for a family with many children like mine.

What I have decided is that we will all wear matching kiwi green tee-shirts. You can pick whatever color you would like that.  We purchased our tees for 2 for $5 at Micheal's craft store.

Having and wearing all the same and in a nice bright color helps us keep track of one another during our trips.

After each trip we will be adding the place and date that we went to as a family on the back of our tees with fabric paints so by the end of the year we will have a tee full of many memories to keep.

It serves many functions and the price is right! :-) ♥

It's the little things that count...what r u doing about it?

It's the little things that count the most!

When was the last time you did something for your spouse for no reason to show that their actions don't go unnoticed?

Travis my hubby leaves $1.25 by the coffee pot when he takes coffee to work in the morning. It's silly I guess but he claims he would give it to the Quick Check guy so why not give it to me because I made it.

It shows me he notices my work making and setting the pot to go off at 4:30 in the am.

I am in return, is saving the money and when it gets to a good amount will take him out of a date just the 2 of us!

The amount is up to $36.25! ♥ ♥

Share your little things with us and if you haven't done any it's not to late.

Remember---- It's the little things that count! <3 <3

Set Your Goal. Step one.

Have you ever sat back and just looked around at your home and thought of your life and how it ended up? Do you like it or not?  Do you just like some of it and dislike the rest? If you have not thought about this than take a second and just do that.

When I do this I learned that God has placed me in a loving marriage with three wonderful children. I am able to be a stay at home wife and mother and I just adore it! But please don't think for one second that it is easy or without a cost.

Sadly though I am unhappy with the way the house tends to get messy. That my ability to let go of the clutter is difficult for me. It's like a big black hole that keeps sucking me in and draining me of life. It causes arguments with my husband and it causes me to be a hypocrite when I ask my children to go clean their rooms. It also causes embarrassment  and lies or excuses to form when guest come over.  Which is a sin.
It has even caused me to be completely stressed out and late for events.
This is NOT what I want! Who does right?! I want to feel happy, comfy and content in my home as I know you do too!

But how can this happen? How can I create a home environment that is welcoming, clean, organized and still have time to sleep and breath.

Well it's easy....I just keep telling myself to "take baby steps and let it go." Like the Little Engine That Could...." I  think I can, I think I can... I know I can, I know I can!"

I will do this and you can follow along as I break down the areas of a mothers daily life, a homemaker's daily life, a wife's daily life, a woman's daily life, a Godly daily life and more.

Don't forget to spend time with the Lord.
